SEASON OPENING PARTY : FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER - SWEIHAN

I am delighted, on behalf of AD4x4 Management to announce the Grand Season Opening Party. This is traditionally the event which kick starts our driving trips for the winter months, and is a great opportunity for new members to come and meet the rest of the club and for everyone to get together.

The day will be in two parts:

TRIPS:
For the morning/early afternoon of 14 October, various trips will be announced for ALL levels (ANIT upwards) and these trips will be run by our Marshals and will get everyone to the party point by the end of the day. Usual club rules for trips will apply and you will need to sign up (as directed) when the trips get announced.

PARTY:
The actual party this year will be held at a meet point in Sweihan and we will make our own camp (and entertainment) and there will be a BBQ with catering by the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Abu Dhabi. The cost for the BBQ (see detailed menu below) will be 120 AED per person with children 12 or below able to eat for free.

Payment for the BBQ is due before the event. You can either arrange to come to my house/office and pay; meet up with Iguana (for downtown Abu Dhabi) or Jo (for Dubai) to pay.

As with previous years, if you wish to do the drive but not the BBQ, or just meet up for the BBQ but with no desert drive, this will all be possible. There will also be a convoy from Abu Dhabi (and possibly Dubai) which goes straight from a central location in Abu Dhabi to Sweihan. Just watch the website for the various announcements.

Drives for all levels are being announced all the time, so sign up if you want to do a day drive and then meet up for the BBQ later.

There is also the option to camp overnight and if you are interested in camping, then please send a PM to our esteemed Marshal Jo. Please, no phone calls to him about the camping, only PM's.

I am going to be coordinating the BBQ/party bit and will make a separate post which you will need to register on if you are coming to the BBQ/party. This will not be the place to register for drives/trips.

Don't feel sorry for the Marshals - it's one of the "joys" of wearing the orange.....

As for me, it's a good job that I don't really have a life! Actually, am more than happy to organise this as it's great when the AD4x4 family all get together.

Well, They don't get paid for this(Unless we count the orange shirt as a payment ). But they still spend hours helping you learn, get you unstuck, fix your pop out, feed you during a BBQ, all with a smile in their faces! Marshals are just the best !

I'm sure that this event is going to be a big success since you SAM is managing it! The last one (Karting)was a huge fun for me !

I can assure you I felt the same when I was new to the club ... this is AD4x4

The warmth of the club and the exceptional support and care of the marshals at that time motivate me today to "pay back" to the new members. I hope we Marshals can continue to "give" so that the coming Marshal generations continue to give as well.

(And ... yeah ... for sure I or somebody else will come back to your offer to help )

I have a better Idea : let the whole company book with us instead and cancel grand hyatt

So glad that so many people are signing up for this wonderful event.

Just to confirm, on the actual day, there will be lots of different drives for all levels planned, and we will also have a convoy going from Abu Dhabi to the BBQ spot only, so any car can join for that bit.
