DesNav Team Formation

DesNav is not far away!

No more than fifty (50) teams can enter!

Other clubs are invited!

This post is to encourage you to start forming your teams now.

This thread is not official registration. Registration and payment will be via the DesNav website.

Team Rules

1. A team must have exactly three vehicles.
2. No grade restrictions, but you are encouraged to have at least one experienced driver.
3. All team members must have a GPS unit able to record your track.

Dave, a public question - if we form a team now, what happens if a team member has to back out at the last minute, or nearly so? Some of us don't know our schedules yet, and might have to fly off somewhere in a hurry.

Are substitutions allowed at the last minute?

Hey AD4x4!

I am interested in joining a team, or making a team for the event. I have a fair amount of off road experience, military navigation training, and most importantly I know how to have fun.... all of which should be of use to a team.

Welcome to the club and i believe first you need to get your ANIT done

Then you can find your best fit team

Clarification on team make up

There are no hard rules on team make up in terms of capability / rank (no. stars). This is because each club has its own grading system.

Our only advice is that each team should have at least one experienced driver.

I do agree with you Dave, BUT !!!! we have to make sure every participant has some desert driving experience. we can't accept first timer to participate in the DesNav.

Thank you Dave,
As we don't have a marshal in our team, we will participate the easier level (Scouts).
Could you discuss with the management accepting each team can do private training trips to practice all the team members.
