It was the mistake of the driver as I was told by one of our friends who was a marshal in the event. The driver did not wish to stop to re fuel so he had more than 100 additional litres with him in an unsecured manner, so when an accident happened to him the car was on fire in few seconds.Xof wrote:last time in Liwa they just used a few cars for the camp fire !

This year's event; as in most years is 750 cars. Participants(drivers) numbers start from about 100, the 1st 100 numbers are reserved for Marshals and organisers and sponsors.
Todays newspaper(5th January 2016) lists the participants and the highest vehicle number is 748.
The event is exceptionally well organised as in every year.
If you have not registered already, it is highly unlikely anyone can get in, the registration fills up on the 1st day of registration.
