My neighbor Mr. Abdullah Al Maliki is one of the few winners against the Municipality when it comes to changing plans based on neighborhood commitment to a greener city.
The powers that be were going to rip up a garden which Mr. Al Maliki had planted several tree's in himself and paid around AED2,000,000 maintaining and planting from his own pocket.
After discussing with him about the need for more green areas and not concrete playgrounds I arranged a list of other neighbors and we sent it to the Municipality and voilla, they re-designed teh garden and we will not lose the tree's and only a minimal amount of grass.
It is not usual that the Municipality will change plans based on such a small bunch of people but I am very thankful that they did as I enjoy walking my dog in the garden and relaxing with my wife.

Thanks guys, it was mostly my neighbor, Mr. Abdullah. I was just a cog in the machine so to speak but yeah it was a good result.
