A Message to my smoking friends

Guys and girls, I would like to advice you all to quit smoking

Seriously ... Those who knew me, knows that I was a very heavy smoker ... I was smoking 2 packs a day - (No Shisha, I don't like the taste).

I am 45 years old - Started smoking when I was 15 ... I tried all kinds of ways to quit smoking and I failed ... Patches, gum .... etc ,,, And all didn't work.

Last month during my Holiday in Egypt ... I had a strange feeling in my left side ... (Cheek, Shoulder, Arm, and leg) ... All were numb suddenly while I was driving and enjoying one of my cigarettes .... Went to the hospital and I was shocked .... It was a brain stroke

Thanks God, I was next to a hospital when it happened, so am fine now and didn't leave any trace ... Just a small feeling in my left hand ... Nothing else.

I don't have a blood pressure problems nor a high Cholestrol .... But I am diabetic (Type 2) and WAS a Heavy smoker ... And that was the main reason for my stroke .... I came out of the hospital after 2 days decided that I will never smoke again ... and now it's my 5th week withot smoking and without any feeling that I need to smoke ... My life is more important than a cigarette ....

I am writing to you here to advice you all to stop smoking .... I had the worst 2 days in my life ... And I don't want any one to have the same .... Just re-think ... don't be stubborn like I was before .... Maybe I was lucky that I was saved in the right time .... So just re-think ... you life, your family, your health are more important than a cigarette or a shisha.

Thank you my dear neighbor for the advice.
I did quit smoking last year after 33 years of smoking.

I have no issues at all after quitting as I'm very strong man like Gladiiiiii

Hope somebody will listen to your advice soon.

Am very glad you are ok iguana.

I am the other way of iguana. Never had a cigarette in my life. Shisha yes only since I joined ad4x4. You can't stay good boy forever,,

, but my life been nothing but sports. Started at he age of 8. Did all kind of sports. Now am discovering that I was playing sports for this age... Till now am a gym active. The only think I have is a bad knee from a stupid Dr,, suppose to be a friend. ( never trust your friend Dr specially if insurance involved ). !!!

So no smoking. Lots of sport you live very happy. Very ACTIVEEEEEE.

Well Islam thanks for sharing this and for the advice, thanks the effect of your smoking attacked you your own body in my case it the other way which effected the most precious and the only thing am leaving for in this life,

I have been smoking for long time almost 18 to 20 years and been smoking everywhere< in the car house toilette and around the family which the most stupid thing I have done, in September 2010 thanks god I got my second boy Yousef and still am smoking around, however in his 9 month we discovered that he is having a difficulties in breathing after doctor’s consultation most of them they confirmed that he is having an Asthma and allergy and need to take the VENTOLIN INHALATION AEROSOL for the asthma every 4 hours the only cause of that was ME and my smoking around him while he is still a small baby, this is give me the motivation and was more than enough to quit smoking.

I grabbed the chance during the holy month of Ramadan to quit smoking, thanks god now I am clean for the 3rd year and My boy Yousef has cured from the Asthma only from time to time.

Moreover my life style my health been improved to the best

Please this is for everyone who is smoking if you don’t care about your own health please consider others (your family your kids your relatives) and any other small child might be around you.

fair enough! i'll be 41 on the 4th of may... Then i'll stop for good cigarettes (i'll keep cigars sometime though!)

but YES I should at least slow it down. I think I should stick to shisha only

Shisha is worst !!
One of the very possible lung infection and collapse causes is getting a virus and bacteria and fungus through shisha. I hope every one to stop it .

Thanks for sharing your experience and the great advice dear Islam. Thanks god you are safe and you have taken the correct decision.

I hate smoking and the smell of smoke in all its forms whatever pipe, shsisha etc etc. never ever during my life had the urge or the attraction to smoking.
