First Photos: Battle-Ready ‘Furious 7′ Armored Wrangler

Post by MarwanJeeper »

The custom Wrangler driven by Ludacris in 'Furious 7' is a menacing armored reincarnation of the SUV, and we were lucky enough to get some of the first photos of the beast.

With rumors that the upcoming Furious 7 could be the last in The Fast and the Furious franchise, gaining screen time in the flick as a vehicle couldn’t have been easy, considering the automotive heights the franchise has already climbed.

That, coupled with the sentimental elements tied to Furious 7 as a sort of final tribute to actor Paul Walker, who plays Brian O’Conner and died in the midst of filming, makes the movie even more special.

Dodge, of course, has had a longstanding relationship with the Universal Pictures franchise, so a number of their vehicles have enjoyed placement in the films. But it’s the armored 2015 Jeep Wrangler that seems to be getting the most buzz leading up to Furious 7’s April 3 opening. And with darn good reason, if you ask me.

Driven by Tej (played by Ludarcis) the custom Wrangler is a menacing armored reincarnation of the SUV, which we were lucky enough to get some of the first official photos of here at JK-Forum, as you can see below.

Custom features include “armored façade” panels, matte green paint finish, and fender flares. The armored Wrangler also features custom rock rails, a GOBI roof rack, and a custom front bumper with integrated grille guard. Performance specs include a MOPAR 6” lift kit, Dana 60 front and rear axles with 4.88 ratio, and 17” wheels with Beadlock appearance sitting on 37” tires.

However, from the mind-blowing clip below it’s clear that this is one Wrangler you really need to see in action, which I hear Furious 7 is jam-packed with from beginning to end.
