 my bedroom does NOT contain anything SWAP related, only some camping gear and stuff ...
but my Caprice is VERY spacious inside

started to tune my caprice PCM :
- remove VATS security - done
- remove rear O2 sensors from tune : done
- tire size/gear ratio adaptation for vehicle speed AND automatic shifting : done

still to be done but LATER ON THE VEHICLE:
- reduce torque management
- further shifting tables enhancements
- Traction Control removal / ABS removal
- Fan Control
- eventually evap/emissions modifications

and I have to figure out if I am going to run TWO tunes with a toggle switch (normal/performance) as the Caprice used to have.

- Figured out how the Caprice fuel system works from here    :
Holden_LS1.pdf
The TJ 2006 by coincidence has a very similar "single feed/returnless" fuel delivery and 60psi on the fuel line ... I am ready to go, yessss
(oh ... did I mention I got all my remaining parts from summit ... whoooohoooooo  )

lol ... I hope I can reduce the "disassembled" time for my toy by using the "assembled" time to prepare as much as possible in advance ;)
and as you know I can only do the swap in school vacation time as the toy is a DD!

SWAP officially started!

Caprice went with a few parts to 7p (brand new swap Oil Pan Kit, Headers, transfercase adapter with VSS and new hardened transmission output shaft)
SO they can start
- ripping engine, transmission, PCM, some smaller A/C and power steering fittings and stuff off the caprice,
- mount the new oil pan and headers to the engine for the mock up
- prepare the transmission,
- bolt the transfer case adapter on
- modify/tap an oil pan plug to accept the Jeep oil pressure sender
- prepare the passenger side (near firewall) coolant temp sender mounting location to accept my Jeep coolant temp sender

Please do Chafik. I'll be watching your V8 swap project closely. It would be nice if you could write down a list of the parts that you're swapping into your Jeep, the parts that you're taking out, and the parts that you've had to modify so we can have a reference for future V8 swaps into 6-cylinder jeeps.

I will make pressure on them to finally empty the space occupied by your never ending project

now seriously: why is your JK still having the guts taken out for weeks now??? (I thought everything is figured out and parts available, no?)

btw ... I have the appointment with them for July since march this year

ok ... lets start with the list:

from Dubizzle:
complete Chevy Caprice 2001/75000kms with LS1 to be parted out (Engine, Transmission, ECU, some fittings and lines/hoses)

from Kwik (http://www.kwikperf.com/):
fbody_AC_Bracket_installation_instructions.pdf
alt_ps_bracket_inst.pdf
I got a brand new Sanden FLX7 A/C compressor and a power steering pump with a slightly smaller pulley to fit ... and the matching serpentine belt as well
AND I did not want to go with the Al Ain rip off brackets ... you never know what spacing they are for (LS engines come in corvette, f-body and truck accessory setups! ... ALL 3 have different DEPTHS (waterpump and crank pulley!!) ... tearing serpentine belts are endless dramas in other swaps here  !!!

from Novak (http://www.novak-adapt.com/):
Chafik Moalem 13994.pdf
from Speartech (http://www.speartech.com/):
1x LS1 (LS-24X) harness LS1 with 4L60E (99-02 Camaro/Firebird), drive by cable/mech. throttle body, 3pin MAF/IAT setup:
- The harness includes all needed wiring to the engine and transmission, diagnostic port with check engine light, fuel pump relay, fuse block, wires for a computer controlled cooling fan relay, and labeled wires for easy hookup to the battery, ignition switch, and fuel pump. Wires are also included for tach, speed, and brake switch / park-neutral switch functions, A/C status. These custom stand alone harnesses are built for full function, closed loop control, and designed for non-emissions use (no post-cat O2's, A.I.R. pump, purge canister, or fuel tank evap interface).
- Length 3.5"
- for use with 3 pin MAF and IAT sensor (in contrast to 5 pin MAF)
USD $750.-

from summit(http://www.summitracing.com/):
SwapPartsSummit.pdf
with all the nitty gritty small stuff which might be hard to come by here
(I have some redundancy in the exhaust part ... I know  )

happy reading
