update:

here is a list of parts needed for TJ LSx conversion:

from Novak:
(have been mailing with Ryan ... they are very helpful, btw)

bolt on engine mounts #MMTJ-G6
4l60E tranny to np231J TC adapter #4L61-23
A/C relocation bracket KIT #ACG3S alternatively KWIK performance bracket KIT/ebay?
Block hugger header Sanderson ceramic coted #CCLS1C
Transfercase shifter, cable operated #SK2XC
Transmission shifter Lokar, Cable, floor mount
Tach/CPS signal emulator module #E-TX62
crossflow aluminium 2core rad #R-TJ10H alternatively LS1 alu conversion rad from ebay
electric spal type fan with shroud #FX2500 alternatively comes with ebay rad

according to Ryan no need for new driveshafts ... transfercase only minimally shifted.

H3 V8 oil pan KIT ebay ... dealership?
(rear sump, low profile)

alternatively I could go with Advanced Adapter Stuff as well, but less complete ... and weld on MMs :?
I prefer to get as much as possible from Novak ... one shipment, less shipping costs and hassle

Exhaust parts from Summit:
Dynomax 21400 two in one Quiet Flow 3 Muffler 2x2.5" in 1 x 2.75" out wouldn't need exhaust Y pipe ... checking dimensions,fitment
2 Magnaflow 59956 universal metallic spun catalytic converters or 49956(!?) OR
Pypes Performance Exhaust CVM10K set with integrated O2 bungs

IT SUMS UP :x ... therefor it is best to slice it down:

month 1: buy donor (DONE)
month 2: buy parts (TODO)
month 3: let 7p put things together / sell rest of donor
month 4: sell original engine plus tranny

your doing some serious progress here ! 8-)

I heard from some one that there was a law that was passed recently for legalizing the swap to v8s as long as you are using the original engine mounts. I'm still trying to confirm this from Muroor themselves. :)

But if that is true then ..

I will my dear, I will!

btw : regarding your economic JK build ... when I visited hisham @ 7p in Ramadan he already was telling me that they need to do (let do) some tranny outputshaft modification to make it fit the transfer case on your JK ... I know now that he is competent ... but I know as well that ANY true fabrication effort in Mussaffah is risky :?
Thats why I am going with the Novak #4L61-23 tranny2TC adapter  it comes with a NEW outputshaft for the 4L60E (doesn't matter if 2x2 or 4x4 4L60E) ... unlike e.g. the AA adapter where the TC input is modified instead and the AA adapter NEEDS the 4x4 version of the 4L60E
And now I know as well that I am going with the Novak BOLT ON motor mounts instead of using Hishams "secret" recipe ...
(somebody has told me that Hishams Mounts bolt to the frame, yes ... BUT HE WELDS THE ENGINE SIDE TO THE BLOCK??! ... I wonder how he would do that on a aluminium block!)

UPDATE:

today I was in Muroor Airport Road ... guess what:

THE GOSSIP IS NO GOSSIP!

There is a regulation ... V6 and V8 can be swapped in regardless if same or different manufacturer!

I visited the test engineer (older guy with white hair) ... he was very friendly and looked for the fax like 10 minutes until he could show me s.th. written. He described the situation like this: "You are allowed to eat and drink ... but without opening your mouth!"
( I have heard of people being nourished through the nose  )

BUT:
-frame and mounts on the frame have to stay original (no shaving, welding, drilling)!
-engine has to be supported by stock frame mounts ... no change of engine angle, engine height etc etc
-no additional parts like "adapters" allowed ... for sure no "adjustable" rails or so ...
-no single mention of displacement limitations or so ... I did not ask as well ;)

So the conclusion is:
1. V8 swaps are not illegal.
2. It is highly dependent on the professionality of the mounts!!!!! (there is lots of room for interpretation ... I asked if screws, aftermarket block mount plate and mount rubbers/bushings are considered "additional parts" he said no, of course not. As long as the block mount plate is bolted to the holes on the block, fine ... (I explained the Chevy block has six holes and you can chose to bolt to the first four or the next four)
All doable ... just no bengal weld experiment

I think my chosen Novak mounts were engineered for the UAE!

(Ah and YES : before asking I passed muroor without any hassle ... I only took my LEDs off the windshield brackets, filled the gas tank UP (50l), left all gear and tools in the trunk to keep the jeep a bit lower in the rear :? ... with 33" mud tires, hood louvers, mopar cat back, edge trail jammer, spectre cowl cai, 7" fender flares, 2,75 suspension lift (2"coils, .4-.75 spacers) , 1.25 body Lift and the IPF lights on the bumper (with caps) ... they only repeated the breaking test several times :| )
I was quite anxious :?
But then when I got the paper I was positively surprised!

and now ... ... V8wannabe will get some yummy vitamins to grow big and strong
