Options :
Replace with new....big ooooooch
Replace with second hand? Anyone see a written off body, good engine?
Replace with 5.3l alpha engine.......oooooch, engine + all the others bit and pieces...$$$$$......
Await your inputs, we already have a jeep, so thats not an option either.......yet this should reduce the responses

Re: Need Replacement Engine for H3...
Sean i can recommend, you make a little visit to 7 performance / al yasi ... and ask him about this.
I'm quit sure, that it's possible to put a little sweet v8 monster into your h3 - specially since it's already a gmc engine in there ...
I f you have the automatic, you have a 4L60e which is just bolt on to most small block V8 ...
You should try the 5,3 ... just my mind. It's a LH8 vortec engine - like the ones chafik is aiming at and i'm putting in ( i'll put the L92 - a little big bigger) - but since there exists already a h3 with the lh3 you should go for that - because of the bolt-on design...
Here's about the engine : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine#LH8
Your Automatic (if you have it) is a 4L60e and thus the same as for the H2 ... so it can handle a lot more power...
As i mentioned above for the driveline itself it's a bolt-on thingy. What can make things a bit different is the pcm.
But since Hummer = GMC and all GMC pcm's are already hacked, i guess it can be easily reprogrammed to cope with the v8.
Hope to see you again, soon, too ...

I have stabbed my engine to death!
What should I do now ?
I would personally Sell it and run away while I still can !!
But If I have AED30,000+ in cash then I might do a 6.0 swap..
all what you will need is a good garage and ...
Vortec 6.0 liter engine with Fan, ECM and custom wiring
4L65HD heavy duty transmission (i think this is optional)
Custom Exhaust and Intake work
and that is about it !! your good to go with your new fire breathing monster !!
I can give you some contacts of expert shops in Dubai if you wish.

get 2 camels in front, a harness, and be patient...
i will not propose you my small spare XJ engine... i think the H3 would not even move if it was even possible to install it...

Instead, you can take that AED30,000 you are planning to spend on a new engine and buy Franky out !!Xof wrote:get 2 camels in front, a harness, and be patient...

Look at the bright side, Jayne has the jeep now, you can always come as a passenger, I don't think she will mind that. Kidding.

Where is the "dislike" button! Sorry to hear this Sean. Not great news.
I think you should just use it to coast down dunes. We could get two or three Jeeps to tow you up steep dunes, say the Moreeb Hill, and then let you coast down it. Kind of like a huge sandboard?
Seriously, this sucks and I hope you find a solution that doesnt make you wince too much.

Re: Need Replacement Engine for H3...
Will do for sure - am looking forward to it especially now it's cooling off - a bit less stress on the driver (and engine ). I've now got the bulk of the basic equipment in place so should be good to go...
