The Prject

Bitten by the v8 swap and Franki projects, So decided to do the V8 swap it in my 1997 Toyota LC80.
The work basically will involve swapping and fiiting the 2UZ 4.7L v8 into the 1997 FZJ80 4.5L straight six Land Cruiser.
Swap could be done withot welding or modification to the chassy and it could be with less head aches and no worries on passing it. But First I have to find a donner car for swap.
The reason for this swap are:-
More power: bodyweight/power ratio and output is great
1997 design and good looks (So I maintain the that 90's look.)
Ruggedness, best there is.
Many donner cars on plate.(2000 to 2007 v8 toyota Engines) Including Lexus engines.
Budget to suit.

Back ground
The Toyota UZ engine family is a 32-valve quad-camshaft V8 piston engine series used in Toyota's luxury offerings and sport utility vehicles. Three basic versions have been produced, the 1UZ-FE, 2UZ-FE, and 3UZ-FE. Production spanned 21 years, from 1989 to mid 2010, ending with the final production of the 3UZ-FE powered Lexus SC430.
Toyota's current petrol V8 engine series is the UR.

The work

With the above back graund iformation I search for not only the engine ,the gear box, tranfer case, electric wiring,Engine computer and other components that are required.
So I head up for Al-Dhaid in Sharjah where I build my FJ40 to see if this can be done and actually to find a donner car for the swap.
The Only engine that will fit is fron V8 2005 2UZ-FE 4.7L with a complete gear box and tranfer case.

The progress.
Found the Doner Car and all components required to complete the swap.
Sorry I dont have any pictures to share with you but i will take next time when i visit the yard in Dhaid.
But you may no see of technical details as it a straight swap but you may test drive the beast when it done.

So wait for the update.

I would like to but the Tundra Engines wont fit and would require mods to the oil pan and front tranfer shaft.
Also the Tundra Engines are expensive and dont fit my budget.

Good research.
The 4.7l engine is a straight forward swap from what I've heard. Spares readly awailable too. Good luck. Pls keep this post updated. Like to get to know some good garages here. Only thing stopping me from doing any major mods were not knowing any reputed garages here. 4.7l should fit my FJ aswell. I have no idea just a guess as it comes on the prado lexus version.

Good luck.
