The car will be lowerd by 1.5" Scorpio ... It's already in mind ...

I will also put the Porsche 5 spoke chrome wheels

1.5" lowering is to make the car a daily driver and to ensure comfort as well

UPDATE

The car is changed ... I found a 1969 in a good condition ... The guy already started restoring it and he is doing a nice job ... All parts are already ordered ... So I went for it .... I cancelled the deal with the other yellow car owner and already bought the 1969.

The guy did 90 % of the work, but didn't have enough money to complete the project ... So, I will start where he ended from

The body work is fully completed, the car is pained special cream color (I don't like it, but will change it later) .. Top frame is already restored, the convertible top is in the box, suspension work is completed, brand new 1600 cc engine, all rubbers, seals, glass, interior parts are already there new in boxes, the car just needs assymbly

The car should be moving to the restoration shop within one week from now and should take around 2-3 months to be completed

I will post pictures soon

coooool ... sounds really good ... congrats, Bro!

so a brand new 1600 ... hmm? Not bad!

Maybe a 2.0 flat six (H6) from a Porsche 914 in the future ?

really curious about the pics! I hope the bug can make it to AD ... The corniche needs such a classic car cruising and turning heads

The offer I had was with the brand new Engine ... So why not, I can sell the engine later.

A 2.4 Engine swap will be great idea, but not in Egypt SSS. The Porsche Engine will be great but spare parts will not eb available if anything happened to the engine.

They guy is restoring the car to original look ... So after I recieve the car, I will do the following:
- Disk brake conversion with a drop spindless which will drop the car by 2.5"
- Porsche alloy wheels.
- Some chroming to enhance the look.
- performance exhaust
- Dual WEBER Carburator

If I find that the car is slow and the engine needs a replacement, then I will go for
- 2110 Engine from Gex International with gearbox http://www.gex.com/2110Turnkey.htm
- Berembo drilled desk brakes
- Sporty suspension

I see ... you are planning for a really high quality bug!
sure you will not compromise

another "did the homework" build, GREAT!

(hey ... we finally should open a shop together for quality custom swaps and daily driven hot rodders  !)

The only problem in these cars is that you need some one to understand the value of work done ... When I was searching for a base car, my friend in Egypt was making fun of me .... He said why are you wasting your money in such an old car .... Now after I finished my study and started sending him pics with my requirements and detailngs, he started looking for a car for himslef ... He found a Cadillac Serious 62 (Eldorado) 1955 convertible but the owner is asking for too much for the car ... Now I am making fun of him, saying why you waste your money in a junk like this

slightly off your topic ... but only slightly:

just to show the jeep enthusiasts that it IS POSSIBLE to do some serious restoration on old "worthless junk",
check out this LOOOONG picture thread about "custom" jeeps ..... in Islamabad!
some of them ugly ... some funny ... and some reeeeaaal cooool! (our US friends can't get enough pictures from the Islamabad 4x4 club!)

I saw the subaru swap on the net somewhere ... But I am not making a racing car or a speed one, I am making a fun classic convertible, the Subaru engine will not match the idea of restoring

Update ...

Body is now fully restored and painted ..Suspension Done, Now started to do the Electricity, preparing the Engine bay for the new Engine ..

Next step will be the roof and the Interior ... Then I am finished

I will try to get some pictures as you know the car is in Egypt

After this, I will start my oldsmobile 1952 convertible , then go for the Pontiac lemans 1963 convertible (Which I might bring here for restoration) and finally the Fiat 1500 convertible  I think by then I will become the restoration Expert ... If some one is restoring a classic car or want to restore one, I am ready to help
