Hi Islam,

Can't wait to see your finished product. Loving all the pictures.
I'll try and find some pics of my Cambodian Beetle 1967 which had a bullet hole through the front hood from the war time. I adopted it in Phnom Penh in 1994 and found the bullet in the glove compartment... but lost it since then (the bullet). Bought all the engine parts in Bangkok, re-did the interior and installed an A/C. I sold my Beetle when I moved to Dubai a year and a half ago (crying now). Big big mistake...

More pics please.... :-)

I am on the final stage now ... all parts arrived ... everything is restored ... Maybe within 2-3 weeks, the car should be ready.

I also ordered an Air cooled A/C :D which is the only remaining part ... But will finish the car and then can install the A/C later.

Here are some pics from my last visit in June

Nice wheels, and I like the Porsche Stuttgart centre caps.
Would like to see the rest of the Hitler car when it's done.

What are costs involved in renovating this?

I only ask this because my first car was beetle (saloon) and i only changed the engine and gear box with toyota corolla 1.6 16valve (1996-1997) model and bigger tyres and i loved it.

I still have a thing for beetle but would like to know the details before i get myself into something.

Mubz ... The car is restored in Egypt not in UAE ... I am using the best brands in my car and changing every single screw ... So my cost is very high .... Till now I reached AED 70k ... Don't forget that I have to pay 20% customs on all imported parts ... And a convertible is more expensive to restore than the saloon
