Baofeng UV-5R mods

I found the squelch on the UV-5R to let through some noise every now and then even on the maximum setting - kinda distracting! With a programmer cable and the CHIRP program on your computer you can adjust the squelch levels so you have more control:

I got my programming cable online from Dragon Mart, but it looks like they no longer take online orders??
