I changed over to a Mac last year and have never been happier. I find my Sony Viao very clunky to use now and dont really like it. I take my Mac with me everywhere....and now have my eye on a Mac Airbook :)

Liked the blog you did - very informative.

I have been using mac since 2004 and I still have "smile on my face" each time I use it. I only use windows for work and when using office (note: MAC office version does not support arabic). :D

I switched to mac 6 years ago - and i never regret it. I'm IT professional since 1998 - and before switching to the mac, i'd always the impression i cannot really use the windows pc just as a tool to do stuff. It always needs to be fixed, needs care and some good words, to finally do what i want.
The mac on the otherside is just a tool. It works as intended (yes ok except for M$ Software on Mac ... but for this part i skip the reason ;) ), i love the unix beyond it (and the bsd portstree of course when installed) and i use it a lot on a daily basis. It's just a good looking daily tool.
Nothing else.

Wanted to convert, went to the apple shop in AD mall, after waiting for 45 min without anyone available to talk to, I thought "what if I need a service for my Mac!!!"
Then all went back to me when I bought my car from Alfatim, and said "no thanks!!!"
Till next time may be. :)

mac user since 2009 ... before that I was always using windows (to play, swear and for office) and Linux (to work  )
with my macbookpro and Mac OS X I don't have to switch anymore

(well ... checking from time to time how far Linux is getting, though  )

Remember, there are no apple stores here. The service you get here is nothing like the customer service you get at an actual Apple Store. All the places here are resellers, and have received no formal training from Apple. There is only one business in the UAE that is authorized, and it is only a distributor ( http://www.abmme.com/). Mac's are great, but don't expect more service than you would get for your clunky windows computer. There are a couple of mildly competent shops which repair and service apple products that I have found in Dubai. But, its still going to be better than dealing with windows.
