I'm using it , came with my new hp laptop , i think it's nice and new but you need to get used to it , many updates from microsoft to follow .
by the way it doesn't accept usb mouse or memory stick yet , drivers of both are not match vista

What problems are you having with XP to even consider Vista.
If you really want to try it...then install it as a second boot option. you end up with both on separate partitions. I have detailed instructions on how to do that.
The only benefit I see in vista is Direct X 10 ...which according to my sources has already been "ported" to the XP platform with no glitches.
XP Pro does everything I need. Vista? maybe in couple of years, maybe.
