AD4X4 Grading system - discussion
We are pleased to announce that the Abu Dhabi 4x4 club grading system has been finalized (Thanks to Khaiwi & Adiga) and approved on today's club management meeting. The grading system is based on the participation of the members on our trips, club meetings and activities in addition to participation on the web site. Please note that the grading system has been done to organize the club trips more and allow all the members to enjoy the club trips.
The grading system is as follows:
Visitor: Any member register to the Club and didn't attend any club activity.
Newbie (*): Any member attended at least one club trip.
Intermediate (**)
A newbie who had fulfilled the following:
- Attended at least 3 trips and one meeting with the Club.
- knows and understands the basic fundamentals of the offroading
- Carry the basic recovery tools.
Advanced (***)
A beginner who had fulfilled the following:
- Attended At least 8 trips and 2 meetings with the Club.
- Has good experience in off road driving and recovery
- Must have Radios, Contributes with technical discussions on the forum with a positive attitude on the site and offroad, especially with newbies.
Explorer (****)
An advanced member who had fulfilled the following:
- Attended at least 10 trips and three meetings with the Club.
- Has a GPS and knows how to use it in planning and navigating
- Have the ability to lead and sweep a group of 4 cars
- Has enough technical knowledge and First aid Kit and been very active
Marshal (*****)
An active member who has enough experience to plan, lead, sweep, rescue, any kind of offroad trips with the Club.
Should have: radios, GPS, first Aid kit, Extra recovery gear
Planned and lead at least two to three trips (beginners to advanced trips)
Demonstrated full control over rescue/recovery situations
Fair mechanical knowledge
Must be recommended by three Club marshals and approved by the club committee.
All upgrades should be strictly as per the final approved categories and should be nominated by three marshals except for Marshals which should be approved by the club committee.
The club committee have a full discretion to upgrade any member to a higher category immediately without fulfilling the above requirements based on the driving skills of the member, his attitude, experience and recovery & offroad skills
Current upgrades has been already done to existing members based on the club committe's recommendation and the above grading system.
The club committee members are:
Iguana – Islam El Mantawi - Founder and Chairman
Megamoe – Mohammed Hunaidi - Founder and Site Administrator
Konradh – Konrad Hindriks - Founder and International Director
Khaiwi – Abdulrahman Khaiwi - Chief Marshal
Abu-Omar – Omar Kamel – Marshal & Camping supervisor.
Mrwrangler - Anwar Al Ta'ei – Marshal & Safety Officer
Adiga – Salahuding – Marshal & Safety Officer
Chico – Shaheer Hosni - Events & Marketing Coordinator
4x4er - Anit - Club Public Relation Officer & Media Co-Ordinator.

Guys, thanks so much for the new grading system, and thanks for the upgrade you did to my grade, hope will not disappoint your confidence in me, although for the next couple of trips i won't be able to join, but as soon as I got my car back, I'll make sure not to miss any event with the club even if it's in Abu Dhabi area.

Thanks Iguana for the tip. And now you are trying to start a war between Jeep and Toyota, noooo man I will not go into this with you, and believe me with the fly I had over the dune, I needed a couple of wings to escape the fall not a man's car.
Anyways, I'm a big fan of the wrangler myself, and I can't deny that it's a great off road car, but I will never get it as my first car to be honest with you, when I can afford a second car for sure this will be my choice to wreck it in the desert. :driving:
