Do I can create an album or Administrators has to create it?
If Administrators', could you please create it to allow the members to applaud the pictures of my first trip (Follow the KID 01 17/10/08).

Hello guys, sorry for not keeping you up to date with what’s going on with our website. If you have noticed during the last couple of month we suffered a number of problems with the forums and the gallery due to changes in our server configuration in preparation for our new website. Add to that the time out problem caused by the Etisalat problem which made matters worse and delayed the completion of our new website.

I'm sure most of you have noticed that the quality of internet connection has somewhat degraded in the past few month. I have no explanation to what the problem is exactly how ever I can recommend a few steps that you can follow to enhance your surfing experience with our website and other forum based websites.
These settings are for your internet connection at home only. Trying to change settings at your work’s computer might result in loosing connectivity to the network.

For windows XP & Windows Vista using Internet explorer

-go to your internet explorer
-wait until the home page is fully loaded
-click on 'Tools' (should be on the top right area of your explorer tool bar. click 'Alt' if you can’t see it and the menu should appear)
- click on internet options
- go to the 'Connections' tab

If you are using Wireless connection, router connection or cable connection use the following setting:

- click on LAN settings
- under 'Automatic configuration':
1-unmark the tick box next to “Automatically detect settings”
2-unmark the tick box next to "Use automatic configuration script"
- under 'Proxy server'
1- mark the tick box next to "Use proxy server for your LAN(.....)"
2- in the 'address' box, type: proxy1.emirates.net.ae
3- in the port box, type: 8080
4- press OK and then OK again

If you are using 56K dial up or DSL dial up (meaning that you have to initiate a dial up to access the internet) use these settings:

- under 'dial up and virtual private networks' select your dial up connection (could be any name)
- click the 'settings' tab on the right
- under 'Automatic configuration':
1-unmark the tick box next to “Automatically” detect settings
2-unmark the tick box next to "Use automatic configuration script"
- under 'Proxy server'
1- mark the tick box next to "Use proxy server for your LAN(.....)"
2- in the 'address' box, type: proxy1.emirates.net.ae
3- in the port box, type: 8080
4- press OK and then OK again

For windows XP & Windows Vista using Mozilla fire fox (version 3)

- Open Mozilla fire fox
- wait until the home page is fully loaded
- click on 'Tools' (should be on the top right area of your Mozilla tool bar)
- click on ‘Options’
- click on the ‘Advance’ tab
- click on the 'Network’ sub-tab
1- under connections, click ‘Setting’ located on the right hand side
2- under configure proxies to access the internet, mark the tick box next to “Manual proxy configuration”
3- in the 'HTTP Proxy' box, type: proxy1.emirates.net.ae
4- in the port box, type: 8080
5- mark the tick box next to “Use this proxy server for all protocols”
6- press OK, then OK
7- your done, close your browser and open again.

Note to Gallery users: any picture uploaded that is more that 2MB in size will be corrupted. This is just temporary and should change once I resolve the matter with our hosting company in the US

if you mess things up and your internet connection is not working any more give me a call and I will be glad to assist. 050 7813221
