Mapsource won't open...

Hi All,

Has anyone had trouble with Mapsource on a PC running Vista? I've loaded and re-loaded the software four times now, including following the on-line unlocking process, but it makes no difference. It won't even open :x . It just gives me an error message to copy and paste and email to Garmin, who still haven't responded.

I've pasted the error message below and if anyone can make sense of it / shed some light, I'd be very grateful, especially as I was hoping to make a route for my Oman trip this long weekend.

Thanks,
Steve a.k.a. Mulgara

It runs on my VISTA system, so I do not know what is the problem here. For the key it is best to save it on the computer and to recover it from there, easy and fast. If you have Mapsource also on an XP maching you can save your map keys there and just copy them to the other computer.

Thanks Mike - you're always there to answer my questions! Not sure what you mean by saving the key on the computer. The instructions say open Mapsource and then enter the key when prompted, but it won't even open.

The maps were already loaded on the unit at the shop when I picked it up, so perhaps that changes the procedure somehow. Might stop by there this evening to see if they can suggest what might be wrong...

Thanks again,
