IMs parked for a long tine in the Outbox

Before actually been sent out, IMs tend to stay for up to 18 hours parked in the Outbox. This is not particular to the new website, but used to see some delay with the old website as well. Any ideas?

It will stay in your outbox, until the recipient opens and read the message
