How do I get permission to write in the shoutbox at the bottom of the page?

you dont need any. it should work fine in any pc/browser
but it dose't work on most mobile phones, old version of windows mobile and most touch operated aplications

When I click on it, the cursor appears I type and the words appear and then if I click enter it posts...

Can you do the same or are you locked out from it completely?

Still nothing, I clicked on the white text box. My text was shown in the box, I pressed enter and nothing happened.

I think xof is right.

It works fine with my laptop. As explained above, click in the white box, type a comprehensible, I mean comprehensible statement, press enter and viola..
