How to get around blocked sites using a Mac

Can anyone help? I have tried to instal hotspot shield but I cannot open it as I cannot open .exe files on my Mac.

before using Mac, you have to ask if he agrees... And you know, he's a old man, so not sure he can help with IT issues...

Mac an exe file is something you use to keep your Jeep running without consuming petrol..
