Removing sand from Air Conditioner?

Hi all,

While stuck last week I literally got so much sand in the FJ that some of the AC vents aren't working now. Obviously with the weather how it is this is a PROBLEM!!! I've already cleaned out the air filter, filter box, dust cup and cleaned out the AC filter located in the glove department above the blower and still there is some obstruction keeping the vents above the stereo from working.

Anyone know of a good shop or person I can contact? I'm going to Al Futtaim tomorrow but not really expecting much other than a massive bill.

Cheers!

They're not called stealerships for nothing. ;)
That's why you should always have a jar of Vaseline handy when you collect your vehicle.

I suggest you change for a Jeep - no vents on the top. Just front ones

Gladiator can only approve.

If you keep your air con on recirculate on an FJ this should not occur

I had to clean once with al futtaim Dubai and negotiated for days to get from 2000 to 450. But really it should be under warranty because fj is sold as offroad vehicle.
Zeebzog is correct. In the future, Keep the AC on closed circuit and limit as much as you can the amount of sand flying in your car.
All the best

Cheers for the jabs  and all the suggestions also! I will check Sepal Garage tomorrow.

This evening I removed the dashboard all the way down to the evaporator and cleaned out as much as I could reach.

Denise by clean do you mean they flushed the AC or did they also remove the dashboard and clean the evaporator / blower / ect...?

AC was on circulate but window was down during a slide slope recovery and the rest is history

400 isn't that bad from Al Futtaim if they actually had to remove the dash and clean all the AC component.
