Hi guys,

I am struggling with the storage for my flag pole. Its one of the red ones from Ramy4x4 that fits to the rear left of the car boot.

When the flag is not in use it becomes an annoyance in the car and the wife doesn't want it in the flat.

I have seen Wranglers with the flag permanently fixed and arched over the spare wheel on the back, is this possible for the FJ? If so how would this be achieved. I've googled this and cant seem to find any solution but i think that i saw a marshal in a white FJ a couple of weeks ago with a similar set up.

I hope the above makes sense, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jmrigby88,

Got my flag pole tied up on my roof rack and works fine, permanently on.
Now if you dont have a roof rack, there 's a hook in the rear upper right hand side of your truck and depending on your flag pole length, you can hook it up there all the way till the passenger front and side shades. I used this solution for some time without any inconvenience for my passengers, and the flag pole was properly secured at the same time. FYI I had to cut mine to make it fit the length of the car.

Hope that helps!

Regards,

Violetta

Hi. The alternative is to get he rear door hinge bracket from Ramy. This allows you to do what the jeep owners do. The flag screws into the hinge bracket and then can be bent behind the spare wheel.

Can be bended inside the cargo area easily and doesn' obstruct visibility nor consume space, ill try to send a pic

Here you go...

Bended in the trunk:

Then goes bolted in the same hinge mount that Lee showed:

Hi guys thanks for the replies.

I have the same hinge bracket as shown however I didn't think the flag would have the flex to bend back behind the wheel. If it does that would be ideal as that's the type of thing I've got in mind. Currently I've got it running along sideshow passenger side window but it's a bit annoying to step over in the passenger footwell.

Hi Jmrigby88

I have seen one FJ who has bent behind the spare, I believe it has the flex. I will get u a pic if I came across him.

For me I remove it and keep it behind a closet inside the house, when I want to go off road I bring it with me.

Hi, I bend my flag (from Ramy) back behind the wheel. I also use the door hinge bracket.

One thing to be aware of is that eventually the flag will break just above the threaded screw. All the strain is at this point. It takes a while but eventually goes.
