Light Wheels

Post by fadijoin »

Good morning Experts :)

I have the Sahara wheels on my 2016 JKU, along with the BFG's,
I love the looks of these rims but they are narrowing the car, and would love to see a wider setup on my car, and the wheel spacers nobody recommended to me,

So im buying new wheels, I really need them to be very light, Where should i look, What brands? and what width should i bring? I dont want it to be too beefy, But at least to come out 1-2cm of the fender.

and will my BFG's hold on well on offset wheels? Cuz on my sahara rims i go down to 6 PSI and never had a pop out.

Cheers

Fadi

Hi Luaymikkawi,

It all depends on the rim size you want. I have 17inch, with 285/70 tires. There is limited choice in this size, you won't get Yokohama for example, so I drive Kumho. My rims are by Lorenzo.

I think fj options are different than jeeps, as for jeep i want to keep them 17" so i use my current bfgoodrich tires which are 285/70/17

Hi Fadijoin, yep Jeep is completely different. I have BFGs on the landcruiser but the Kumho are lighter and far more fragile.

Yes I tiered them and few ppl in the club got them on their jeep, Yes method rims are one of the best brands that you van get, but I will only get them if they were bedlock

As for fadi main post I would recommend you for the method bedlock so you would never think of pop corn ever  "pop out"
but you need to know that they haveaier compared to normal rims

Method rims are one of the lighter weight compare to other bedlock brands

You are right Mamoun, But my style of driving never had a pop out,
So i dont want the extra weight, Im Comparing between Pro comp, Mickey Thomson and XD. Im towards Pro Comp, they are 13KG and look nice. So not extra weight, Same as Sahara Rims.

If you can afford to wait, it's cheaper to order them from US. I bought my MT for USD 100 per piece, USD 250 for shipping and AED 200 for custom. You can do the math and compare. Note you have to ship them via USPS otherwise you'll pay a fortune. Only issue with USPS is that you can't track your shipment (may take up to 2 months to deliver), I was lucky and got mine in 2 weeks.
