Land Cruiser - Spare Wheel - Where to stick it?

Calling all Land Cruiser owners (or those who know).

What have you done with the spare wheel?

Have you left it under the car?

Does it get in the way when side cresting or straight cresting?

I would prefer not to mount it on the back? Has anyone mounted it inside the car?

Any tips or advise would be appreciated.

Cheers, Al

Keep it under the car and fix a rear skid plate.

Does the skid plate cover the tyre?

Mine doesn't. It protects the back bumper.

Hi Lee, have you had any issues side cresting?

Not to date, but I have not done anything too much with it. On straight cresting I catch the tire and back tow bar on a steep descent, unless I turn off vertical at the bottom and take a kinder line for the car.

You can fabricate one to cover the rim
After that you can ski on sand.

I had a skid plate to protect that back bumper but not the spare Tyre. The spare protects that back side skirts and back bumper. If you really want to take it off, you will need a skid plate that extends more towards the back axle.
