Factory Anti-Rust Treatment
Hello Everyone,
Looks like the FJ will be delivered this week, hopefully.
I was wondering if I should get factory anti-rust treatment done to it?
I'm hoping to join you all sooooooon!
Thanks!

Razer,
I think that it comes down to the cost they are wanting to charge (and whether you are willing to pay), and the length of time you intend to keep the car. Whilst I have only been here 14 months, I have not seen evidence that rust is a big problem with cars in the UAE. Even cars that show considerable rust problems in Australia (like the GQ patrol) are fine here.
Regardless, you need to ensure that you get a good underbody clean performed regularly - there are a couple of ADNOC's where they will put your car up on a lift and pressure clean the underbody thoroughly (I have found a quiet word and a bit of a tip up front improves the quality of the job done!)
hope this helps!

Thanks!
Thanks Lucknow.
I think I'm going to skip the factory anti-rust treatment then. I don't want to wait another day before I get the vehicle. It's already been an agonising wait...and the guys at the Toyo dealers are probably the most spoilt bunch of peeps. They get orders left, right and from every other possible direction. They don't even have to move their behinds to get an order...it just rolls in. No freebies thrown as well...
The real experience of buying a new car can only be had once you enter a different brand's showroom...then the sales guys swarm all over you.
Anyways...am just venting because I don't have my ride as yet.
Thanks!

HI Razer I think you have to get the anti-rust protection when your car is brand new cause after that it will get some scratches and the anti-rust coating is rough it will help. I did it in my furtuner after only 3000Kms and I think it is effective here in UAE due to high humidity up to 90% but after that you have to clean your car at leat once a month if you are using offroad (Down chassis) as it is written in all tha car manuals.
Good luck my friend
Good luck my friend

I think ideally I should get it done when it's new, right?
They're going to deliver on Wednesday, if I ask for anti-rust treatment, then I don't think I'll have it before this weekend. That means I'll have to go through another agonising weekend without my ride. And then more time goes by without me getting a chance to participate in any of the amazing trips going by!!!
I think I'm going to skip the anti-rust treatment for now, and then do it once I send it in for the first service. I don't think it'll be okay then before I start going out on trips.
I have all my fingers crossed for Wednesday. Inshallah.
Thank you all!

My advise is to do the anti-rust coating.
but i dont like the one done at the dealer since they bust the engine bay look.. it will look like and old piece of crap.
there is a shop is Mussafah that can do a black coating for everthing under the chaises and it looks great. I did My wranglers there, i also did my SRT8 there. I advise all to do and especially when its new.
if you want, i will get their contact.
Regards,
Extreme

Honestly, I wouldn't mind going now and buying the H3.
It's been 9 days since the vehicle landed at the Jebel Ali Port. The shipment arrived on the 31st, so says the sales rep. But every time I call him he tells me that the custom papers have not been released! 9 days?! I've never felt frustrated with any purchase this much...it's killing me. I'm sure the port people don't like to keep vehicles parked in their yard for nothing, in fact they want it out of there as quickly as possible.
The sales rep refuses to give me a set date, and keeps saying custom papers not yet released. I've come this close to canceling and buying someplace else. But I've kept my sanity in check, and haven't lost my cool once. But I seriously feel like I've been jerked around.
Sorry guys...the frustration is now really getting to me.

I thought the FJ was factory rust proofed, and u do not require rust proofing! this is what a friend of mine was told from another dealer. Also given a 5year rust free warranty.razer wrote:AED 900 for a full body treatment, and 500 for underbody only.
What do you guys think?
Oh! And btw the FJ's on its way, delivery on Sunday!
Hope to see all you guys soon!
Thanks
