Hi All,
I drive a Jeep. JK 2017. I just finished my 3rd drive. i.e. very much wet behind the ears.
I have a query on the best way to switch ABS off during offroading. On my last drive, I removed fuses - J6 and J7 to be exact - to disable ABS/EPS. I went for the option of removing fuses primarily because I was not very comfortable with the idea of hacking the electronics/electrical setup.
While it worked well, I noticed a few side effects as well. The speedometer was not working and I couldn't get it to manual shift. It would stay on automatic.
Has anyone noticed anything similar? Any advice to share? If possible, I would like to stick to removing fuses than go for a killswitch.
Best Regards

Please have in mind that J6 and J7 are not the same thing. While one (J6) dissable your ABS, J7 will not allow you to run manual mode on automatic. We dont want that.
In newest wrangler, you want the J6 be disconected, not J7.
PD: Do anyone needs speedmeter while offroading?

I have the kill switch installed by WM on my ‘14 JKU. Very nice clean install. Just put a switch inline with fuse lead. You must turn off the Jeep to reset the computer after putting the switch back to closed position.

Don't think twice, just go for the killer switch... it's much safer!
It's a simple job so don't worry for your electronics/electrical setup, and it won't cost much. If done at Western Motors or Eastern Motors, it will not affect your warranty either.
I did mine at Eastern Motors and I'm happy with the setup, don't remember exactly but it probably cost around AED 400 - 500

Kill switch. An if you have extra money onboard compressor. Makes life easy if you are going out every weekend.

Another vote for kill switch, mine was done at WM. My buddy also had his done, and didn’t void the warranty. Mine is out of warranty already.
