What Radio Should I Buy?

Hi Everyone,
Happy to have found such an awesome community, Im planning to join one of the ANIT trips and want to be as prepared as possible.
I read some of the previous posts looking for answers on which radio I should buy that follows all the rules and laws here in the UAE, but the previous posts seem to be a bit old.
I was wondering of any of you could offer some direction on what to buy and what steps I need to follow to make sure I dont break any laws.
