Re: Spin your wheels, To re-gear or not is the question!!
answer : yes!!!
but this is not dramatic... make the calculation of the difference of torque between your previous tire and now (radius x force), that will not be critical. This is basic physics... i think we can say that you reduce the "safety factor" of all the parts of your car designed for stock use...
the question is: how big are these designer safety factor???
anyway, re gearing will improve the torque at the transmission end, but the drive shaft, all parts that are "transmitting" the energy to the tire will anyway be more stressed (again, not critical) due to the fact that your tire are bigger.
Actually, you may have the same issue with the resistance of your tires due to "mud" threads...
of course, i might be wrong, school is far away...

Radius / force will be from 31" (which I beleive is stock) and 33" a factor of 109,9%.
So to say 10 % more stress for the Diff.
So to say 10 % more stress for the Diff.

well ... I assume you have the 4spd autoMarwanJeeper wrote:Mine is 35 with 4.88 and its not going very well..maybe should go for 5.13
the only manufacturers with lower than 4.88 for JK(!!!) D30 are nitro gears ( 5.13 ) ... dunno if you want such a small pinion on such a small ring diameter
4.88 is perfect for the 42rle 4spd auto WITh 33" TIRES !
OR you need to swap in a regeared front D44 instead of the original D30 (and regear your rear D44) ... expensive

The 305/70R16 are almost 33" (32.8"). With 4.88 R&P and Auto-gearbox puts you on the powerband compromising a bit on the fuel consumption. But, isn't that what you're looking for?
I have 35" tires on 5.13 R&P and manual gear LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL My t-case ratio is 2.7:1 so I am always on 4x4-high even in LIWA booooooooooo
I engage the 4x4-Low and lockers once in a while to test if they are still working

Friday trip could have been almost on two wheel drive with "LIWA-RUBICON". As I said even in LIWA I am always on high.....
Next trip sit with me as a passenger for a short spin to show you what I can do on high and when I engage the low gears LOOOOL
