If you can afford it then get the montana. If no then take one of the Oregon series.

For sure and Montana, and Oregon are more good.
But question is in reasonable sufficiency. May be I shall never use all features of Montana, but I shall pay for them.
So you mean that Etrex is not so good as Montana, or that it is not suitable for offroad at all?

1- low resolution slow gray scale screen
2- No Automatic routing
3- No Electronic compass
4- no Barometric altimeter
5- No custom maps
6- No wireless Unit-to-unit transfer
7- Not compatible with Garmin Connect.
8- Limited save track functionality.

I guess you can use it to navigate your way. But I would not like to have it when doing something like Desnav.

Got mine for 1800 case and mount. Talk to Abbas. If you need the 2013 map including Egypt and Jordan - talk to me

Also as Sean put it, WOLLE is selling the 276C. That's at a good price as well. ;).

Just bought a Montana 600 at Amit last week, got it for around 1600 Dhr without maps. Prices went down a few weeks ago. Oregon 550 without maps is now 1100 DHr but they are out of stock.

the Montana Have a big advantage on Desnav because you can share GPS points wirelessly. :)

Found that very good when we were doing the GPS Hunt to share between the cars.
