Hi all

I've just bought a second hand Garmin Montana (now I can start getting my logbook signed off!).

Previously I've been using an Android app called Backcountry Navigator Pro which I must say is much more intuitive than the Montana!

So, question - can anyone point me to a Montana 101 resource, or can anyone walk me through the basics so I can get up and running?

I've looked at the wealth of material from Desertdawg but can't seem to find a basic user guide. Can anyone help please? Many thanks

Hi Matt,

You are right in that the Montana isnt intuitive - but is a fantastic piece of kit when you get to know the settings. Desertdawg did post a basic user guide here http://www.ad4x4.com/club/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=21039

It is basic, and helps you to at least start being able to use it. I used You Tube videos a lot. I am working on a slightly more advanced user guide and will post it when finished.
