I am no engineer, but what I do know from all XJ owners that we have in the Club is that they are all tending to overheat. The GCC specs are better than the US ones in general.kareemamr wrote:it wouldnt make any difference if its us import ..???
i mean the cooling system and stuff wont give me a problem ?
You may search in the Technical for threads like "Louvers for bonnet" from Chuck and DinoStroker, there is a lot to read and learn about XJ's in general.

Also check www.souq.com and www.dubizzle.com
This one is on Dubizzle and the seller is in Abu Dhabi. Low mileage for the year.

You have to watch out with US imports as some of them are insurance write-off or stolen in the US. When i was looking for a Cherokee at 2nd hand dealers here in the UAE i came across 2 US imports... and both had some strange bodywork repair / damage.
I still ended up buying a US import but not from a dealer. It runs fine ... when i push it in summer in the desert it will run hot.
My XJ has the "tow package" option from the factory... so it has a heavy duty 3-core radiator. Regular US XJ's have a 2-core radiator. Soon I will get a Flowkooler waterpump (100 US$) this will improve the flow of coolant and should solve any issues.
The XJ also builds up a lot of heat under the hood... installing hood vents is an easy solution... also coming soon

I checked this car with ABO OMAR the other day its worn out and i doubt that its the real mileage , the car condition is below average .Mac wrote:Also check www.souq.com and www.dubizzle.com

This is about the price and millage i had on mine... but it was in good condition.
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) will tell you which options were installed on it.
Make sure to check if all the rubber bushings and engine mount have been replaced or are still in good condition.
The 4.0L engine is bullet proof and will handle 140.000 km easy... but if you don't trust it... and you think the condition is below average....
Maybe you should walk away... there are plenty of XJ's around for that price!
