While I've had a spare vehicle the Pony has been getting some therapy (at WM). All preventive, before the items break.
I've been nursing the throw-out bearing on the clutch, waiting for the time when I have two cars at home! Sure enough, when the clutch was removed the bearing simply fell apart ... just in time.
Maintenance list:
- replace throw-out bearing
- replace bearing collar/sleeve
- replace clutch (it was almost down to the rivets, though still working)
- replace flywheel (showed signs of scorching, and was quite worn, and amazingly not too expensive!)
- replace visco-clutch on fan
- replace s-belt tensioner
- replace s-belt jockey wheel
- replace s-belt
- check rear control arm bushings (maybe replaced)
- fix headlight plug (it melted last week)
- check clutch master/slave cylinder (looks hopeful that it will not require replacement)
- remove several kilos of sand from under the car
