Gate 12 to Naagra

Trip report - Advance drive in Sweihan

Our initial plan was to organise an Advance level drive from Gate 12 to Naagra with the support of Marshal Kevin.

Since there was a "dunebashing carnival" in Naagra on Friday evening we decided to head towards "Old lady" to avoid the ploughed terrains and tracks.

After deflation and initial briefing the drive started at 10.30 am with Bishar as the second lead followed by Mostafa and then Kevin as the sweeper.

After playing on the high ridges near to Gate 12 we headed towards to our destination. Though initially we had to encounter terrains filled with tracks, the remaining part was more like virgin dunes and the experienced drivers enjoyed the long crests, large dunes and tested their skills of riding on the crests and switching.

When we headed towards Ronin's Hill, Kevin lead the convoy for half an hour.

Being his third drive in Sweihan, Mostafa drove really well on the high dunes and also managed two recoveries in a safe manner.

Since two cars faced certain mechanical issues we had to bail out at 2 pm, around 7 km away from Old Lady and headed towards the gatch road.
