Hi Mpenzi

I have heard of a great drive up to the top of the mountain in RAK. I can arrange sometime in Mid December with an RAK expat who knows the track.

Regards Triplod

Sound Cooooooooooooooooool.Yes count me in.
Please could you also ask if there are any water pools in wadi Naqab.
This wadi is the largest wadi in northern Emirates and.............. it worth visiting water or no water pools.

I just saw all the rain and flood throughout the Northern Emirates and the bad, rainy and cold Weatherforecast for that area in Emirates News. Please be safe going to the mountains there now ...

Give it another month Mpenzi and we will go, but tooooooooooooo cold at the moment to camp
Another choice is to stay at a rest house, nice & warm.

On Emirates News the other night there was an article about a hill fort at a place called Qalat Dhaya in RAK, and there is great looking rest house there. I have Googled the rest house but can find nothing.
perhaps you being a local/arabic speaker could ring Etisalat and try and find a number then speak to the owner. He was on the news but is old and doesn,t speak Englsh.

It could be a great place to base ourselves to explore. This is on my wishlist of places to go this year.

Well done old pal, I knew you would find it.

How about 2-3 weeks time? Can you pls ring the place to find out room costs & availablity for say Friday 30th Jan, or Friday 6th Feb,then we can post it depending on room availability. I would ring but everything is in Arabic.
I cannot make the 23rd Jan as we are committed to a party

We could leave early in the morning say 8am, drive up there, have a look around, stay overnight then explore again on Saturday and home Sat. night.    Thnx
