Friday newbies in Sweihan

Other than a few uncommunicated no shows, we all met on time and split the drivers into two small convoys. Convoy #1 comprising of myself, Subahar, Enzo and Irfan as sweeper. Kevin who led the other drivers will write the report for convoy#2.

After a warm up in the dunes between gate 12 and the gatch road, we settled into a rhythm moving towards Nagrah. A few stucks and second tries later we met up with the other convoy for a break and a chat. We then wound our way back to the BBQ and arrived about 10:45.

Well done Enzo, you showed confident vehicle control and safe driving. Subahar, you are showing improvement but need to concentrate on maintaining the appropriate speed for the manoeuvre and to follow instructions when given. Thanks Irfan for solid sweeping and keeping things tidy at the back.

My convoy did very well. We our convoy moved very well and Zak, Fadhi and Fahvza very good control and competence while driving. I have driven 3 times with Zak and Fahvza and I think there skill level is ready for the next level. I can say the same for Fadhi, although I have only driven with him once.

THanks a lot Mark for supporting, I know it wasn't an advanced trip, but I hope you still had fun

Thanks Emdoc for organising Newbie trips on Fri morning. Although the weather was hot and humid early morning but we thoroughly enjoyed early morning drive. Sweeping a very small convoy was an easy task but I have few observations which are as follows:
1. Participants of convoy need to strictly follow the instructions by Marshals specially facing stuck or tricky situations.
2. Communication discipline is an integral part of convoy. That needs to be maintained throughout by participants.
3. Marshals briefs are well elaborated at the start of trip. We need to concentrate on points mentioned in briefings and during the breaks as well, for individual safety and safety of other members in convoy.
