Anyone had an FJ Cruiser in the sand yet?

Post by MrsFJ »

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has had an FJ Cruiser out in the sand yet and if so, how did if fare? I've seen the videos on youtube but they're all on snow or rocks and rivers.

Any comments and advoce would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

MrsFJ

you can send PM to Mpenzi and check with him like Bulldozer said, he is the one and the only one in our club.

Also since you have nissan Patrol also it is very good on sand but for the FJ Mpenzi will be better source for you.

Please introduce your self to the members over here so we can know more about you, and feel free to ask any questions

Mpenzi is one of our Marshal .. He drives his FJ everywhere without any problem ... The car looks cool as well ... Good clearence, good engine and goes everywhere ... Check our Gallery, you will see lots of pictures of Mpenzi Black FJ going everywher.

Bulldozer, there is no bumper clearence problem with the FJ, I didn't hear Mpenzi complaining about this

Hey thanks everyone! I will PM Mpenzi for some detailed info.

I am a total beginner to off-roading but my husband is a very experienced (and very crazy) sand driver (he's Emirati) so I guess I'm just scared he takes out my FJ and trashes it! I'm looking forward to learning in it nice and slowly.

I do also have a Patrol Super Safari , which my husband thinks is the King of the Desert!

Looking forward to meeting you all at a Newbies drive sometime soon.

Thanks,

MrsFJ

Mrs FJC

For the record : My FJC is the first in the world to be fitted with a winch on stock bumper beating the American. Thats another story

Had my FJC for year now and as iguana mentioned, drove it in the high to moderate dunes all over the Emirates and the car is fine.

As a newbies, you need more drives to judge, feel and control of your car. The FJC is fitted with A-track and it has real differancial lockers to help you out in those nasty ''parking'' in the sand.....Onother thing you need to learn.

There is a post here that explain and gives tip on how to drive in the sand and other post on safety requirement. So if you follow those you will have no problem.

Many Mabrooooooooooooook for buying the FJC ..... by the way they call it (Fake Jeep but just ignore them) and Happy driving.

This is a myth, the 2012 is already out, no difference in shape though, like any other car in the market, they keep using the same model for 4-5 years, after that, no one knows if they will discontinue them or get some changes in them, anything other than that is a rumour.

Both way, this car was a try by Toyota to reincarnate their old successful model FJ40, and they were successful in this and their sale rates regarding the FJC achieved big hits all over the world.
