Hello all,
I’ve been speaking to club members/marshals individually but wanted to post this to a broader audience. I can’t seem to decide if I should do only an axle sleeve/C gussets or both internal (sleeve) and external welded reinforcements. I want to go with the cleaner look of teraflex inner sleeves and C gussets but am wondering how much more benefit there is to doing the external reinforcement under the diff housing. I have a 2017 JKUR which comes with Dana 44 front and back already.
I appreciate all/any feedback/advice/lessons learned.
Thank you,
Kman

Your front Dana 44 tubes is the same thickness as the Dana 35.
I would recommend going for inner and outer reenforcement. Just make sure you pick a design that doesn’t compromise ground clearance

Thanks. I’ve heard external reinforcement on upper side may potentially hit the belly pan and cause damage. I’d imagine all lower side options compromise clearance?anTrax wrote:Your front Dana 44 tubes is the same thickness as the Dana 35.

Rubicon Axle Reinforcement
I just reinforced my 2016 JKUR and talking to others, glad I did after hearing from others how they bent theirs, which is a costly repair.
The reinforcement is below the axle but I don’t believe it compromises ground clearance a lot, as the diff house is still the lowest point. See attached photo.
Inner reinforcement I cannot comment on, curious to learn about it.

In case anyone else may be interested here I decided to go with the teraflex inner sleeve and upper/lower knuckle gussets. On the outside I pulled the trigger on rock slide engineering outer sleeve kit

This should provide both the inner and outer reinforcement you suggested while keeping my clearance intact

Watch out, upper axle reinforcement will means only will work with a lift kit ; if for whatever reason you plan to bring back your jeep to stock, reinforcement will touch the “belly” of the jeep.

Did you buy it here in UAE? Or did you have it shipped? If you bought it here from what shop and where did you have the work done?
Thanks,
Corbie

Okay, I just had my tubes sleeved and housing, tubes, and C clips Trussed. The truss was the lower style. It was all done at Ramy in Dubai
