 yup ... they are good!

160 psi min and 174 psi max are good for this engine (eventually even slightly too high those 174  ) and within the 10% variance tolarance!

congraaaaats ... now you can check why your XJ does not "feel" powerful enough

@ossme

Hishim said it was a good strong engine. Maybe my expectations are high.

I am going to take Frankie to Al Ain to visit the 'master stroker'; Mr Dino. He is going to take a test drive and offer his opinion.

In the meantime, I am going to fix up the wiring and enjoy the season.

Maybe it's the rest of the components eating the power away (like the tranny) ... In the JK i also had the shitty 42rle conceiving suspicion that it sucks away all the last bit of power the 3,8 had...
So maybe you might think about getting a manual gearbox ?

There should be some around from all those who swapped HEMI's i.e. (the jk + tj + old cherokee have the same auto tranny )
Only different revisions.

The manual from a TJ should fit.

Frankie is back from 7P with the old suspension less front spacers and less rear extra long shackles.

Looks mean!!

Image

I also asked Hisham to sort the rear diff...

Before (weeping)

After (sorted!)

Image

Front lights now removed too improve cooling.

All ready for this weekends "Newbie, No More Boundaries Trip" with Abdoush

Frankie has just been aligned. I am not entirely sure how 'wrong' it was, but here is the before and after....

Time for a bit of rewiring and the incorporation of a few fuses.

The wiring was something like this:

Image

One fan on all the time ign. is on and one fan on when A/C on OR engine temp > 110c.

I have changed it to both fans on only if A/C on OR engine temp > 110c, PLUS override switch for fans on all the time.

This is the stock circuit diagram:

Image

And the new circuit:

Image

The diode prevents the fan circuit feeding the cigar lighter. The lamp will come on if the override is switched on OR the PCM switches the fan on.

Here is the relay/fuse block (extra fuse / relay for lights one day)

Image

Here it is in situ

Image

And the over-ride switch..

Image

I have based the circuit on the stock fan relay because the Powertrain Control Module senses the coil current and sets the Check Engine Light if the coil is on when supposed to be off and visa versa (i.e. overide).

Hope this is of use.
